Here at Gyneeworks Institute we are continously investing in basic research in obstetrics and gynaecology, utilizing a number of research grants. Our fellows are working on various projects, investigating the molecular basis of the differrent gynaecological and obstetric conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"gyneeworks<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our interests range from the molecular pathogenetic mechanisms of pre-eclampsia and obstetric cholestasis, to the immunologic phenomena that dominate the utero-placental surface. We try to identify molecular markers that will be useful in the early detection of pregnant ladies that are more likely to develop pre-eclampsia. Moreover, we try to identify molecular interactions that take place during the implantation of the blastocyst, that might contribute to the development of pre-eclampsia later in the course of a pregnancy. We are also investigating the mechanisms that dominate the pathogenesis of obstetric sepsis and disseminated intravascular coagulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considering the need for more direct and accurate diagnostic services that are required by modern societies, we have invested a significant weight of our resources to the development of more effective and innovative diagnostic models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are running research that covers a wide range of gynaecological conditions ranging from the diagnosis and confirmation of a intauterine pregnancy, to the identification of the fluctuation of the different female hormones. For this reason we have a strong interest in developing lateral flow assays and tests that can be used to diagnose various disease states related to women\u2019s health.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
